Tortilla Chip Day vs. Monday

Monday, February 24, is National Tortilla Chip Day. According to my sources, this is a "real" event, and I am willing to accept that.
The thing I'm wondering about tortillas is, how many people eat them plain. Totally plain? Not me ... tried it, but, nah. Usually, we at least dip them in a little cheese sauce, or maybe some sour cream with chives. Folks love salsa with their tortilla chips – and there are a ton of different kinds of salsa suited to fit any taste preference. There are hot salsas, milder ones and, well, the kind I like, which is pretty tame. But some are made with tomatoes, onions, peppers, and spices, while others feature corn, guacamole, or fruits like mango or pineapple.
Maybe you're not content to dip those crispy tortilla chips into salsa, maybe you want more. You can add taco-seasoned meat and cheese and, bam, you've got nachos! Add green onions, refried beans, sour cream, black olives ... and it's Super Nachos!
Okay, now that you're all excited about those tortilla chips, let's compare them to Mondays. Mondays can be a bit plain; I get that. Even though you may not be looking forward to Monday, I've got to say, Monday can be a good solid day of the week – particularly if you are willing to put in a little extra effort and spice it up! Yep, just like those tortilla chips ... add a positive attitude, dress up so you feel powerful, sprinkle some compliments on your spouse, kids, coworkers ... Get the picture?
So get out there and enjoy your Monday like it was a big ol' order of Super Nachos!
Happy Tortilla Day!
