Moving Forward

The saying goes: If you aren't moving forward, you are moving backward. Moving forward can be disguised at times by periods of apparent inactivity. For example, a person can spend months making preparations - setting things up just right - and then suddenly it appears to the onlookers that the person has finally begun moving forward.
In reality, the person has been moving forward all along, their efforts just weren't visible. And so it is with the launch of this web page and the blog. As a key player in Two Ponies Publishing LLC, I will take the liberty of referring to the publishing company as if it were me, or I were it. So I have taken on the persona of the company.
For several months I have worked with Cadee Brystal to be ready to get her Christian fiction romance novels into the hands of readers who enjoy that genre. She and her study group of volunteer advice-givers have been busy reading, editing, re-reading and re-editing the story that she penned. You wouldn't have noticed though, so you wouldn't know that even then the project was moving forward.
I engrossed myself in learning about incorporation, copyrighting, barcodes and studying the processes and benefits of digital vs traditional print publication. There is a lot to learn. Again, to the onlooker, it would seem that nothing was happening, but indeed, we were moving forward. Placing the pieces, preparing the way.
We may have looked for all the world much like the Mallard hen floating in tranquility on the glassy surface of a late afternoon lake, but I assure you we were scrambling. But all the effort and expense was worthwhile as we were able to bring the initial story in the Lesson's of Love In Miller's Bend series to fruition.
Cadee was ecstatic when she showed me her first "real" copy of Wide Open Spaces. She'd been very happy to hold the proof copy in her hands, but it didn't compare to the raw excitement, and yes, pride, that she exuded when she showed me the box of printed books she had ordered. And then it hit me: We were finally moving forward in a very tangible way!
So we ask you to join in our excitement as we continue moving forward in a way that others can see and appreciate. And to all of you who spend time laying the groundwork, doing the preparations and getting ready for the measurable forward motion - we salute you!
